In clinical applications that require the determination of the smallest molecule concentrations, the stability of the measuring system, especially the optics, is crucial. Projectina has optimised a sophisticated microscope objective with a high numerical aperture for a new measuring system regarding the requirements of the application as well as in terms of controlled series production and costs.
"We found Projectina to be a competent and proactive partner right from the start of our collaboration. Projectina's specialists were able to propose clear and convincing design adjustments to ensure reliable series production. Projectina proposed a redesign and made us an offer for the development and production of a prototype series within the original schedule. Thanks to the open and honest communication and competent execution, we were able to complete the development of a key component in a timely manner and take on further challenges in the project," says Dr Thomas Lanz, Head of Optical Measuring Systems at Volpi AG.
The collaboration with Projectina started at the end of 2022. After the development and production of prototypes until mid-2023, the qualification was carried out by Volpi's application engineers. In the meantime, a pilot series of lenses has been manufactured and delivered. These are now being installed in prototype systems and tested by Volpi's customers in a real environment.
Both companies are interested in continuing and consolidating the collaboration over the next few years and perhaps extending it to other projects.
